What printing techniques are there?
What is possible for personalized corporate clothing? The number of possible printing techniques for personalization is extremely large. Each technique has its own application possibilities with corresponding advantages and disadvantages. For the longevity of jeis it is important to think carefully about the appropriate printing technique.
Actually, thinking about printing techniques for personalization starts when you choose your logo. Next, the size of the logo and the number of colors have an impact on the appropriate printing technique.
Logo
When you have a logo with, say, five colors, the cost for small quantities is relatively high.
For larger runs, these higher setup costs weigh much less. With embroidery and transfer printing, we charge per square centimeter. This is of course convenient if it is a small area.
Imprinting options:
- Embroidery: embroidery is extremely suitable for your corporate clothing. You get a durable, colorfast and end result. In other words, your logo is translated into an embroidery card. This card gives the embroidery machine the correct instructions for the number of stitches and color thread.
- Screen printing: screen printing is the most commonly used printing technique for large numbers of corporate garments. For each color, we expose the image in a screen. We stretch this screen onto the clothing, after which the ink is applied under pressure. A screen must be made for each color. This means that for large quantities, screen printing is ideal for your printed clothing!

- Transfer printing: first, transfer printing is ideal for small quantities. second, changes are possible for each garment. For example, for name printing is very convenient. We apply the print on a piece of transfer paper. We cut out the design by color on special foil and then apply it to the clothing. With a press at high temperature we print the clothing and the paper against each other.
-
- Sublimation: This is how a substance goes from solid phase directly to gaseous phase. The print is baked into the surface of the material itself, so to speak. In corporate apparel, the sublimation print will not wear out faster than the textile itself. We often sublimate sports shirts in particular, but sublimation can only be done on white polyester.
